When talking about development in myself, I always remembered when I was in the school dormitory in my high school. It was a point in my life where I think I became more matured, respectful, and quite a thinker. It was around 2013, and it was the biggest moment in Malaysian’s highschool students life. The terror of SPM is coming closer, day by day. The teacher reminded us almost everyday, study, study, study. Unlike when we were in form 1.
Imagine you’re in the top class in school. Where all teacher’s pinned you down everyday. When even a single slip was not tolerated. Plus, living in dormitory, where the warden needs you to take care of your juniors and when they do something bad, you’ll have to face the responsibility. Oh, how I miss when we were a kid, where life is just playing everyday. Ignoring the time, ignoring the problem. But, as the destiny goes, I started to change my way of thinking. I started fresh, from a childish mind, i want to become like those wonderful people, Shakespeare, Leonardo, Einstein. They all had one thing in common, they have a wonderful way of thinking which separates themselves from others.
At first, all I can think is, can I manage? Can I do it? I never done it before. Can I stay at the dorm for the entire year? And catch up my study? Well, it all started when I got the confidence when I know what I want to do. Or in other words, my dreams. What I want to be. When I was a little boy, I want to be a Fireman. But that changed drastically when I think it again. I want to be a designer. I want to create something that can make others happy. Different from my old self. I remember someone said, Change your Mind, then you can change the world. YES! I want to change the world.
So, living in school dormitory sure is different, at home you can go to the kitchen and there’s a dish for you, all prepared. In dormitory, you need to follows the schedule, and you dont have much choice on what to eat. At home, you have no rules for yourself. At dorm, you need to follow the rules. But, I must admit, living in school dormitory sure is fun. You have friends that treats you like a family, you have no tv nor radio, but they will surely entertain you everyday. And the best is, you can study together, different when at home where you study alone, boringly and sleepy.
Thus, I adapt myself there. Studying in such situation. I still remember I always spent my time making notes after imsak in Ramadhan. While waiting for the school starts. I set my mind to one thing and one thing only. I want to achieve my dream. At that moment, my life was very meaningful, I have a goal. I didnt waste my time like I was before. I struggles throughout the year.
And last but not least, I came to Ipoh, graduating from highschool, hoping to achieve my dream, I want to run again, towards my dream. Every problem that occurs in between will just make me stronger, stop backing up. Start moving, even little. Even when the world seems to rejects you, just stands up and say “Try me” instead of fell down and cry. And someday, I promise, I will tell this story, to my children, I want them to take note of everything I’ve been through and applies it in their life too. I want to be able to proudly say, “I’ve felt that, it was’t that hard”
As conclusion, a drastic change in my life occurs when im in Form 5, year 2013. I gave my thanks to all who supports me, my friends, I want to see them again. I thank you for making me who I am today. To get over the barrier that blocks me all this long. And thank you for reading my entry today. Remember, before you could change the world, you need to change yourself.
